명령문 뒤 Tone down 효과

조동사 = 부가 의무문으로 사용 

명령을 한 후 전달을 부드럽게 만들기 효과

• Come here, would you?
• shut the door, could you?
• Don't be late, won't you?

과거는 모두 had to 로 사용

had to는 앞뒤 상황을 봐야 긍정 부정을 체크 할 수 다.

• I have to buy this
  • I had to buy this
• I have got to buy this
  • I have to buy this
  • 100% 못 샀다라고 가정 했을때
    • I should have bought this ( 이것을 샀어야 했는데 라는 뜻 )
• I must buy this
  • I have to buy this

확신에 대한 정리

확신 100% -> he is sick

확신 99% -> he must be sick

확신 90% -> he can be sick

확신 60~70% -> he could be sick

확신 50% -> he may be sick

~하곤 했다. vs ~하는데 익숙하다

I used to give a tour

I am used to giving a tour = I get used to giving a tour

과거의 특별했던 능력

can 보다 be able to 가 많이 쓰인다.

They could reach the top of Mt.Everest ( X : 보통의 능력으로 할 수 없다. )

They were able to reach the top of Mt.Everest
